Enterococcus durans KLDS 6.0933 was isolated from traditional naturally fermented cream in China. In a previous in vitro gastrointestinal tract tolerance test, it was reported that E. durans KLDS 6.0933 could resist simulated gastric juice, intestinal juice and bile salt, adhere to Caco-2 cells. This strain showedpotential cholesterol assimilation, de-conjugation of bile salts and/or cholesterol degradation to remove cholesterol in vitro.
