Between September 2019 and August 2020, the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store had generated over 49 billion U.S. dollars in combined revenues from the gaming app category alone. Additionally, the entertainment app category produced a revenue of 3.8 billion U.S. dollars for the app distribution platforms.
