This dataset provides monthly sea surface temperature (tos) output from multiple CMIP6 global climate models for both the historical (1959–2000) and high-emission future scenario SSP585 (2060–2100). The included models are: ACCESS-CM2 INM-CM5-0 CMCC-ESM2 CIESM MPI-ESM1-2-LR The data are taken from the CMIP6 archive and stored as NetCDF files in their native grid formats (gn or gr1). Each file contains monthly mean ocean surface temperature, provided under the "Omon" frequency, with consistent temporal coverage for the respective experiments. This dataset enables comparative analyses of sea surface temperature variability, historical changes, and projected warming under the SSP585 scenario, and is particularly suited for studies of ocean–atmosphere interactions, climate change impacts, and the drivers of tropical cyclones over the Southwest Indian Ocean (SWIO).
