Built-up areas according to the Nature Protection Act

This map shows built-up areas according to the Nature Conservation Act, forest areas larger than 1 000 m² outside the built-up areas and old forest growth sites. There is no need for forest to be present in old woodlands. These are the places that were indicated as a forest site on the Topographic and Military Map of 1850. Member States may grant an exemption to replant trees on land other than where the felling took place. This involves the fact whether there is an old forest growth site or not.
