Kisspeptin (KP-10) Induces Mesenchymal-like Transition and Cell Invasion in Glioblastoma Through RHO Family GTPases

This thesis examines the detrimental effect of a brain hormone, kisspeptin, in promoting the aggressiveness of a deadly brain tumour, the glioblastoma. This thesis discovers that kisspeptin activates a cell motility program in the tumour cells, which enhances their potential to migrate and invade. This study also found that the use of a drug blocking kisspeptin’s action attenuates the invasiveness of the tumour cells. The findings of this thesis have highlighted the potential of blocking kisspeptin as a promising therapy for glioblastoma patients.
