Newborn piglets were dosed with either antibiotics(amoxicillin) or a placebo for 14 days post-birth to determine the effect of antibiotics on disease resilience. Genomic DNA was extracted from feces at various time points throughout the piglets life, a PCR amplicon library was prepared (16S rRNA gene; V3-4) and was sequenced on an Illumina MiSeq.
