The Field books record the survey information relating to sewerage and water facilities in Newcastle and district for the period 1890 to 1912. The books were created by surveyors employed by the Department of Lands, Some staff continued to produce surveys for the Department of Lands after the detailed Surveys were completed. Included in this series are Level books for Surveyors D.C White, T.B.U Sloman, S. Mills and W.W Mills. Level books record the calculations and recalculations for the surveys.
