Cathelicidin, including mouse cathelicidin-related antimicrobial peptide (mCRAMP) and its human homologue LL-37, is a type of antimicrobial peptide in host to maintain the balance of gut microbiome. Our current study sought to evaluate the protective effect of cathelicidin in mice intestines. In this study, by examining the mice gut microbiome with 16S rRNA sequencing, we provided a comprehensive profile with regard to the reconstruction impact of mCRAMP on gut microbiota.
