Research Dynamics in Digital Humanities and Knowledge Management: A Systematic Bibliometric Approach Using VOSViewer

Abstract—This study explores the development, trends, and research opportunities in Digital Humanities (DH) and Knowledge Management (KM) through 46 publications (2003–2023) from Scopus—12 journal articles and 34 conference papers. Using Microsoft Excel and VOSviewer, it analyzes publication trends, author productivity, keyword co-occurrence, and collaboration networks. A notable increase in publications between 2018 and 2022 reflects growing interest in interdisciplinary research and digital technologies like AI and machine learning. Most authors contributed only once or twice. The Mekong Digital Archives Project is highlighted to show real-world challenges in cross-border digital collaboration. The study underscores the value of regional partnerships, inclusive frameworks, and capacity building for advancing sustainable DH and KM practices, especially in Southeast Asia and the Global South.
