This Gallup poll seeks the opinions of Canadians, on predominantly political and social issues. The questions ask opinions on the past election, Jean Chretien, the state of the economy, concern about the Federal Government deficit, and fire arm legislation. There are also questions on other topics of interest such as methods to reduce the size of the federal government deficit, National Hockey League labour dispute, and opinion of government leaders. The respondents were also asked questions so that they could be grouped according to geographic, political and social variables. Topics of interest include: economy; election; Jean Chretien; Lucien Bouchard; federal government deficit; NHL; and political party preference. Basic demographic variables are also included
