资源简介:
Samples from site 48NA465 in central Wyoming were submitted for pollen, macrofloral,
charcoal identification, and protein residue analyses. This site appears to contain four separate
cultural components based on absolute radiocarbon dates and diagnostic artifacts and to have
been used for lithic tool manufacturing, hunting bison and smaller animals, and roasting and
cooking activities. Pollen and macrofloral analysis, including charcoal identification, of samples
from feature fill and/or activity areas can provide information concerning plant resources that were
utilized by the various site occupants. Charcoal samples were identified prior to submission for
radiocarbon dating. Six projectile points were analyzed for possible protein residues to determine
types of animals that might have been hunted using these artifacts.
