Selective stimulation of penumbral cones reveals perception in the shadow of retinal blood vessels (Spitschan, Aguirre & Brainard, 2015)   Online Supplemental Material   Data are provided as CSV (comma separated value) text files with column headers. RawExperimentalData.csv – The trial-by-trial data from the main and supplemental rating experiments. Each row corresponds to one trial. Column 1 – Experiment (Main or Supplemental) Column 2 – Observer (DHB, GKA, or MS) Column 3 – Spectral direction of the modulation L+M – open-field L and M cones L*+M* – penumbral L and M cones L+M+L*+M* – open-field and penumbral L and M cones modulated together S – open-field S cones S* – penumbral S cones S+S* – open-field and penumbral S cones Melanopsin A – Melanopsin A modulation Melanopsin B – Melanopsin B modulation Background – no modulation presented (blank trial) Column 4 – Temporal frequency (Hz) Column 5 – Rating (0-3 scale)   Spectra_DHB.csv, Spectra_GKA.csv, Spectra_MS.csv – Background and modulation spectra used for each of the three observers in the main and supplemental rating experiments. Column 1 – Wavelength in nm Column 2 – Background spectrum (Watts/[m2-sr-wavelength band]) Columns 3 onward – Positive swing of modulation spectrum for each modulation (Watts/[m2-sr-wavelength band]). Column headers identify modulation using same key as column 3 of the data file described above.   Spectra_Sketch.csv – Backgound and modulation spectrum viewed by the naive observer who sketched her percepts. Column 1 – Wavelength in nm Column 2 – Background spectrum (Watts/[m2-sr-wavelength band]) Column 3 – Positive swing of modulation spectrum (Watts/[m2-sr-wavelength band])
