Exposure of Air-Liquid-Interface bronchial epithelial cells to whole birch pollen

Human BEAS-2B were exposed to whole birch pollen using a Pollen Sedimentation Chamber. The chamber was designed to be able to dose cells to dry whole pollen. The goal was to understand the reaction of human epithelial cells to a human real life pollen exposure. BEAS-2B, at Air-Liquid-Interface, were exposed to 10 mg whole birch pollen for different incubation times (10 min, 55 min, 6h50 min and 24h). The cells were seeded in 24mm Transwells 48hours before exposure and kept in air lift conditions 24h before start. Three replicates were performed for each incubation time. Effects of birch whole pollen were referenced against cells exposed to air.
