Aedes albopictus 16S environmental microbiome exclusion dynamics

This study explores the ecology of the Aedes albopictus microbiome using selective exclusion of environmental microbes by cell size. We used network analysis on a cross-domain network of 16S and ITS ASVs to identify potential keystone taxa in the A. albopictus microbiome. We then used a series of filtrations designed to exclude environmental microbes by cell size and evaluated the microbiome assembly under different filtration regimens.
