VPRS 11406 General Subject Correspondence Files: Multiple Number System

This series comprises general subject correspondence files created by the Department of Education, Office of the Secretary, from 1993 - continuing (as at time of transfer in October 1997). The series documents the planning, administration, development and co-ordination of the provision of higher education in Victoria.The files contain inwards correspondence and copies of outward correspondence relating to all functions undertaken by the Office of the Secretary, Department of Education. The files also contain briefing notes, reports, internal memoranda, minutes of meetings, performance and financial plans. The series contents relates to staffing and personnel issues, administration of higher education, publications, legislation, University Councils, policy and planning at specific universities, policy and planning at a state-wide strategic level, capital works, overseas students, communications and multimedia, Open Learning Program, relationship files with other branches of Education and other Commonwealth and State Government Agencies, committees and working groups re National Competition Policy, education providers, international education endorsements and appointments to higher education institutions.
