The content of the study has two main focus areas:
1. Judgement on state politics and 2. consumer behavior. Topics: 1.
Judgement on state politics: supposed reasons for the change of
government in North Rhine-Westphalia; degree of familiarity of the new
Prime Minister Steinhoff; preferred prime minister; attitude to a
German-National party; mistakes of the parties in North
Rhine-Westphalia; preferred election posters: with program statement or
pictures of politicians; assessment of the role of the Bundesrat; most
important reasons for one´s own voting decision; personal election
participation at the last Federal Parliament election; party
preference; assessment of the relationship between government and
church and the socializing of industry in North Rhine-Westphalia;
political interest; reading daily newspapers.
2. Consumer behavior: image of the retail trade; delineating the
retail trade; assumed margin of the retailer; attitude to price fixing
with name-brand articles; expected influence of price fixing and the
size of store on the price level; preferred type of store and form of
purchase; preference for stores with wide selection or special
selection; relative social prestige of retailers; receipt of Christmas
bonus; company size; self-assessment of social class.
Demography: sex; age (classified); employment; occupation; income;
household income; size of household; marital status; school education;
religious denomination; city size; possession of durable economic
goods.
Interviewer rating: length of interview.
