This BioProject contains 16S rRNA gene sequencing data generated from laryngeal swab samples collected in a swine model of laryngotracheal injury with endotracheal tube (ETT) placement. Animals underwent controlled airway injury followed by intubation with uncoated, dexamethasone-coated, or composite-coated (dexamethasone + PEG hydrogel delivering siRNA against smad3) ETTs. Swabs were collected prior to injury and following defined durations of intubation to evaluate changes in airway microbial community composition associated with injury, device type, and duration of exposure. Sequencing targeted the V3-V4 region of the bacterial 16S rRNA gene using the Illumina MiSeq platform. This dataset supports analyses of airway microbial dynamics in the context of device-mediated airway injury and repair.
