EXPOSE: Systemic Metabolomic Responses to Concurrent Training with Polyphenols in Aging Adults: A Randomized Trial

This metabolomics data set was generated to characterize metabolic responses related to aging and interventions (concurrent exercise training and polyphenol supplementation) to prevent muscle wasting in older adults. It includes targeted metabolite profiles from blood samples collected at baseline and during/after intervention.
Samples were extracted using a methanol-based protocol and analysed by LC–MS using HILIC and reversed-phase chromatography coupled to a high-resolution Orbitrap Exploris 120 mass spectrometer. Quantitative data describing nitrogen containing metabolites were obtained using external calibration and isotopically labelled internal standards, and raw data were further processed with TraceFinder 5.1, Compound Discoverer, and MS-DIAL for targeted and untargeted analysis.
