This dataset collects five-layer soil temperature and soil moisture data from Xinbo Family Farm, Dingzhai Township, Shaoxing City. Separately analyzing the Temperature and Humidity Index (THI) of each soil layer enables comprehensive understanding of soil properties, quality, pollution status and environmental characteristics, providing scientific basis for soil management, agricultural production and environmental protection, and contributing to the realization of sustainable agriculture and the protection and improvement of the ecological environment. Based on the collected five-layer soil temperature and moisture data, the THI of each soil layer in the farm can be calculated, with the calculation formula as follows: THI = 0.8 × Temperature + Relative Humidity × (Temperature - 14.4) + 46.4. THI[1], THI[2], THI[3], THI[4] and THI[5] respectively represent the Temperature and Humidity Index of (1) surface soil (0-20 cm), (2) subsurface soil (20-40 cm), (3) middle-layer soil (40-60 cm), (4) lower-layer soil (60-80 cm) and (5) bottom-layer soil (below 80 cm). THI is an important indicator describing the temperature and moisture status of soil, providing important reference data for fields such as agricultural production, plant growth monitoring and disaster early warning. The five-layer soil detection conducts multi-level and comprehensive analysis and evaluation of soil, and the five-layer THI monitoring can comprehensively understand the properties, quality, pollution status and environmental characteristics of the soil, providing scientific basis for soil management, agricultural production and environmental protection, contributing to the realization of sustainable agriculture and the protection and improvement of the ecological environment.
