Abstract Title: Process and System For Manufacturing Fibreboard From Corrugated Waste Materials Process for manufacturing fibreboard from corrugated waste material comprises refining 5% - 30% of the material into micro-fibrillated cellulose (MFC) using mechanical process; pulping 70% - 95% of the material with water to form a waste pulp; dispersing the MFC into the waste pulp to form a micro-fibrillated waste pulp; moulding the micro-fibrillated waste pulp by applying pressure to obtain a fibreboard; and drying the fibreboard at a temperature to obtain the fibreboard with density 650-850 kg/m3. The process may further comprise filtering the corrugated waste material to remove contaminants before pulping. The pressure for moulding may be in a range 11x10^6 – 12x10^6 Pascals. The temperature for drying the board may be 110 – 180 Celsius. The MFC may be dispersed into the waste pulp in a ratio of 1:3 to 1:20. The process may comprise dispersing the MFC into a pulper for a period of 10 – 20 minutes before adding the corrugated waste material into the pulper for pulping. The process may include adding an additive with the MFC whilst dispersing into the waste pulp. Also claimed is a system that manufactures a fibreboard from corrugated waste material.
