E. Yale Dawson’s Guggenheim marine phycological expedition to Mexico and Central America, “throughout Baja California and along the coast from Punta Peñasco, Sonora, to Tapachula, Chiapas“, 1946. The trip by Dawson and his family by truck covered arid areas, the jungle, being ferried across and fording rivers, roadwork, volcano eruption aftermath (Parícutin in Michoacán, or, Popocatépetl in Puebla or Morelos or Mexico), the Aztec archaeological city of Teotihuacan (near Mexico City), busy market town views including church, town square, and dwellings; also a trip via dugout canoe on a river. “Dawson – Mexico by truck” – container.
