This is the global sea surface hemispherical broadband emissivity (BBE, 8-13.5 micrometer) dataset (0.1°) derived by a lookup table-based method developed by Cheng et al., (2017). The accuracy of the estimated hemispherical BBE was 0.003 given a wind speed of zero. The foam effect was also incorporated into the BBE dataset. This dataset spans from 1980 to 2020.
