On the influence of confinement geometries on the phase separation and crystallization behavior in a mixed GeSbTe amorphous alloy: combining

The aim of this proposal is the study of the distribution of Ge, Sb and Te and their segregation in a ternary Ge-Sb-Te phase change material (PCM) during heat treatment. Data will be collected in-situ with X-ray fluorescence and nano-X-ray diffraction (XRD) mappings during annealing at the ID16B and ID13 beamlines on PCMs. This will provide access to the elemental (Ge, Sb, Te) distribution in the material and the segregation mechanisms. A micro-heater-based furnace that exists at the beamline will be employed.
