Dataset for the Article: Recent Advances in Dinoflagellate Cyst: Integrating Review with Visual Taxonomic Perspectives

The two uploaded compressed datasets are both prepared to support the literature analysis section of the review paper Recent Advances in Dinoflagellate Cyst: Integrating Review with Visual Taxonomic Perspectives. All paper metadata are derived from publicly searchable results in the Web of Science Core Collection, and this study is based on the analysis of 1614 papers in Dataset 2 (2.download_1614). Dataset 1 (1.download_4107) contains metadata for 4107 academic papers, which were retrieved using the search query "TS= ((dinoflagellate* OR Pyrrhophyta*) AND (cyst* OR spore* OR resting* OR dormancy*))". It covers basic research on dinoflagellate cysts, encompassing themes such as cysts, spores, and dormancy, with no filtering applied for specific fields. Dataset 2 (2.download_1614) contains metadata for 1614 papers, obtained via the optimized search query "TS= ((dinoflagellate* OR Pyrrhophyta*) AND (cyst* OR spore* OR resting* OR dormancy*)) NOT TS=(stratigraphy OR palyno OR pollen OR cene OR quaternary OR palaeo OR paleo*)". It excludes papers related to non-core fields such as stratigraphy and palynology, focusing on research in the ecology, life history, and taxonomy of dinoflagellate cysts.
