Insight into the metagenome-retrieved phageome from worldwide-distributed cold environments

In this study, we collected and analyzed 2,750 public metagenomic datasets derived from 2,396 samples obtained from cold environments, representing 873 studies conducted globally between 1998 and 2020. Datasets were selected based on a set of advanced search queries against European Nucleotide Archive on 2021.07.01. Collected metadata was manually curated and selected qualifiers were cleaned and unified. These datasets were subjected quality-filtering, assembly and the process of prokaryotic genomes identification. Recovered genomes were then subjected to annotation and diversity analysis to get insight into their genomic content, global distribution potential hosts. Major output files were retained and collected in this repository to allow researchers to include them in their workflows at various stages.The description of files included is in README.md file.
