Africa MCPSC Mineral Supply-Chain Atlas — referenced dataset and interactive visualisation
收藏资源简介:
Data and interactive visualisation tool accompanying: Ibezim F.C., Charles R., Worsley C., Watson T., Potts S.-J., Martincigh B. & Davies M.L., Material Supply Chains for Mesoporous Carbon Perovskite Solar Cell (MCPSC) Manufacturing in Africa: Availability, Processing Capacity and Localisation Potential (submitted to RSC Sustainability). The deposit maps where Africa holds the raw materials, processing capacity and industrial infrastructure required to manufacture carbon-stack perovskite solar modules domestically: graphite, lead, titanium minerals (ilmenite, rutile, leucoxene), zircon, iodine and float glass — and, from v2.0.0, carbon black production and the lead-acid battery trade that sustains the continent's secondary lead supply. Contents Mineral Atlas (standalone, accessible).html — interactive atlas in a single self-contained file that opens in any modern browser, fully offline. Supply-chain layers (mineral resources, mining, refining & processing including carbon black production and secondary ULAB lead refining, below-cut-off & potential endowments), Regional Economic Community overlays, co-location filtering, a live data table with CSV export, a publication Figures mode (production, reserves, trends, and 2023 export charts for graphite, titanium minerals, zircon and lead oxide) and 300-dpi image export. Accessible build. MCPSC_Africa_minerals_map_dataset.xlsx — the row-level evidence base behind every element of the Atlas: 553 referenced records with full source citations (References register R001–R281), USGS/BGS national baselines and verification notes. Caesium is excluded (held for separate publication). MCPSC_Africa_minerals_map_dataset.ris — matching bibliography (242 records, IDs identical to the workbook register). MCPSC_battery_inflows_dataset.xlsx — lead-acid battery, carbon black and carbon-black-feedstock trade workbook (WITS/UN Comtrade advanced queries, DataJobIDs 3131270 and 3131311; 17,548 records), with analysis sheets covering African battery imports by country, supplier origins, own-reported versus mirror comparison, carbon black production signals and feedstock flows. MCPSC_ESI_trade_dataset.xlsx — the complete trade dataset behind the article's supplementary tables S1–S4 and the lead concentrate (HS 2607) series, with the full query register (Q1–Q11). MCPSM_retention_analysis_v2.xlsx — the retention-adjusted manufacturing-capacity analysis (availability of each material after accounting for export orientation), with MCPSM_retention_analysis_references.ris as its bibliography. Sources and conventions. Reserves: USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026. Production: BGS World Mineral Production 2020–2024 and USGS estimates, supplemented by company and government sources where countries fall outside USGS/BGS coverage. Trade: World Bank WITS / UN Comtrade, reference year 2023, with partner-reported ("mirror") series used where countries do not report and both bases flagged throughout. Every quantitative element of the Atlas traces to a referenced row in the master dataset. All maps produced by the Atlas are reproduced as static figures in the article; no content is exclusive to the interactive version.
