积雪面积比例(Fractional Snow Cover,FSC)指单位像元内积雪覆盖面积与像元空间总面积的比值。积雪是冰冻圈的重要组成要素,在气候变化研究中,积雪是关键的气候变量。在全球水循环过程中,积雪的积累和消融过程起到水的年内再分配作用,是干旱半干旱地区春季最重要的淡水资源。准确掌握积雪面积比例的时空分布对全球和区域气象预报与气候预测、水文模拟与预报、水资源管理等具有重要科学意义。采用地面站点数据对该产品的精度进行了验证,表明该产品与地面验证数据有较好的一致性。该数据集采用Sinusoidal Tile Grid分幅,该数据集存储为*.tif 格式。

Fractional Snow Cover (FSC) refers to the ratio of the snow-covered area within a single pixel to the total spatial area of that pixel. Snow cover is an essential component of the cryosphere, and acts as a critical climate variable in climate change research. In the global water cycle, snow accumulation and ablation processes facilitate intra-annual water redistribution, and represent the most important freshwater resources for arid and semi-arid regions during spring. Accurately grasping the spatiotemporal distribution of FSC holds significant scientific value for global and regional meteorological and climate forecasting, hydrological simulation and forecasting, water resource management, and other related fields. The accuracy of this dataset was validated using ground-based station data, and the results show that it has good consistency with the ground validation data. This dataset adopts the Sinusoidal Tile Grid tiling scheme, and is stored in the *.tif format.
