资源简介:
In 2014, multiple atmospheric measurement techniques were deployed at the CSIRO Pyrotron to characterise the smoke emitted from laboratory-scale fires. The experiment was designed to test the impact of varying the mixture of fine fuels and woody debris in the fuel bed on fire emissions. The experiment also examined smoke composition at different stages of fire progression. \nLineage: Smoke composition was characterised in situ at the Pyrotron using multiple atmospheric measurement techniques:\n- a Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (Bomen MB-100 series) operated in an open-path configuration (OP-FTIR) \n- off-axis Integrated-Cavity-Output Spectroscopy (off-axis ICOS) instruments (Los Gatos Greenhouse Gas Analyser GGA-24r-EP and N2O/CO Analyser 907-0015)\n- DustTrak™ II Aerosol Monitor (Model 8530, TSI Inc.)\nSamples were also collected for later analysis: \n- Filter samples of integrated particle emissions, later analysed for gravimetric mass using a Mettler UMT2 ultramicrobalance, for major water-soluble ions by suppressed ion chromatography (IC) and for anhydrous sugars including levoglucosan by high-performance anion-exchange chromatography with pulsed amperometric detection (HPAEC-PAD). Carbon analysis was performed using a DRI Model 2001A Thermal-Optical Carbon Analyser. Elemental concentrations in collected filter samples were determined using X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF). Black carbon was measured by light reflectance using the M43D Digital Smoke Stain Reflectometer.\n- Tedlar bag samples, later analysed using a White Cell Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer (Bomen MB-100 series) and a Syft Voice100 Selective Ion Flow Tube Mass Spectrometer (SIFT-MS). \n\nThree levels of instrumental data are made available in this collection: \nLevel 1 contains: \n - raw spectra from the Bomen MB-100 series FTIR instruments,\n - raw (uncalibrated) masses from the DustTrak™ II Aerosol Monitor (Model 8530, TSI Inc.) and \n - raw counts from the Syft Voice100 Selective Ion Flow Tube Mass Spectrometer (SIFT-MS)\nLevel 2 contains concentrations of analytes measured during each experimental fires. \nLevel 3 contains emission ratios (ER) and emission factors (EF) derived from the concentrations in level 2. \n\nLevel 3 is publication level data. \nOther metadata are included in excel sheets in the main folder.
