Multi-omics Elucidates Gut Microbiota-Driven Mechanisms of Lipid Deposition in Pigs Fed a DDGS Diet--Transcriptome

Corn dried distillers grains with solubles (DDGS) is a commonly utilized feed ingredient in swine diets. Long-term, high-level dietary inclusion of DDGS has been demonstrated to significantly alter porcine fatty acid composition; however, the underlying mechanisms remain incompletely elucidated. Through a 55-day experiment with 30% DDGS in the diet, integrated with multi-omics analysis and antibiotic-mediated intervention strategies for gut microbial homeostasis, this study systematically elucidated and validated the core mechanism underlying the role of gut microbiota in the regulation of lipid molecule deposition in pigs by DDGS, and provides insights into the scientific utilization of DDGS and alleviates human-livestock competition for grain resources.
