Dataset

The dataset is used to test hypotheses relating to (1) the direct relationship between the two job demands (quantitative and cognitive job demands) and the challenge and hindrance appraisals, (2) the role of the challenge and hindrance appraisals in mediating the relationships between the job demands and measures of job strain (i.e., exhaustion) and employee motivation (i.e., work engagement), and (3) the extent to which interactions between cognitive and quantitative demands amplify the negative hindrance appraisals. Data is analysed using Mplus 8.
