Resistance and resilience diatoms to cope with drying in Mediterranean temporary rivers (Catalonia, Spain)

This dataset includes 25 sites with diatom counts from a wide range of habitat types (rehydrated biofilm and sediment, artificial pools, disconnected pools, and vectors) from Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac Natural Park (Catalonia, Spain) during 2019 and 2021. Some of these sites were sampled multiple times over time to test the resistance and resilience strategies of aquatic diatoms in temporary rivers (Vall d'Horta, Rellinars, Talamanca, Santa Creu, and Sanana). The dataset has been formatted following the standards of the Tropical South American Diatom Database (https://zenodo.org/records/5721364)—a database constituent of Neotoma (www.neotomadb.org), a global community-curated database by regional experts for multiple types of paleoecological data—and as part of the project "DiatomS mEEt Databases: resources and practices to enable large-scale ecological research (SEED)" funded by the International Society for Diatom Research (https://isdr.org/early-career-networking-award/).
