Sustainability: post-Christmas spending cutback intentions in the UK 2019, by city

Consumers in various UK cities stated an intention to cut back on purchases in the period following Christmas on the grounds of sustainability. According to the results of a survey conducted in the run-up to the 2019 Christmas period, Brighton was the keenest with 73 percent of residents in this city expressing an intention to buy less during the post-Christmas sales. In cities such as London and Manchester, this share was above 60 percent. Consumers in Scotland were found to be less environmentally conscious, with only a little over half of respondents in Edinburgh and Glasgow saying they would cut back on their post-Christmas sales shopping.
