Soil temperature and soil moisture data at five depths were collected from the peach orchard of Chen Guolin in Dingzhai Township, Shaoxing City. Analyzing the Temperature Humidity Index (THI) for each soil layer individually enables a comprehensive understanding of soil properties, quality, contamination status, and environmental characteristics, providing scientific evidence for soil management, agricultural production, and environmental protection, and contributing to the conservation and improvement of sustainable agriculture and ecological environments. By collecting the five-depth soil temperature and moisture data from the aforementioned peach orchard, the THI for each soil layer can be calculated using the following formula: THI = 0.8 × Temperature + Relative Humidity × (Temperature - 14.4) + 46.4 THI[1], THI[2], THI[3], THI[4], and THI[5] respectively represent the THI of (1) surface soil (0-20 cm), (2) subsurface soil (20-40 cm), (3) middle soil (40-60 cm), (4) lower soil (60-80 cm), and (5) bottom soil (below 80 cm). As an important indicator describing soil temperature and moisture conditions, THI provides critical reference data for fields including agricultural production, plant growth monitoring, and disaster early warning. Five-layer soil detection enables multi-level and comprehensive analysis and evaluation of soil, while five-layer THI monitoring allows for a holistic understanding of soil properties, quality, contamination status, and environmental characteristics, offering scientific support for soil management, agricultural production, and environmental protection, and facilitating the conservation and improvement of sustainable agriculture and ecological environments.
