In this study, soil samples were collected from oil-contaminated sites in the desert in southern Israel polluted in 1975 and 2014. Biostimulation experiment with the addition of water (to 20% or 50% saturation), nutrients, and biosurfactants was performed in the lab over 1.5 years. . Overall, the amendment of water, nutrients, and biosurfactants accelerated the oil degradation and altered the microbial compositions in the arid desert soils.
