资源简介:
Provides detailed information on groundwater levels and trends across aquifers and wells in India. The Water Resources Information System, popularly known as India-WRIS, was initiated through a Memorandum of Understanding signed on December 3rd, 2008, between the Central Water Commission (CWC), Ministry of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation (now the Ministry of Jal Shakti), and the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Department of Space. The aim of India-WRIS is to serve as a repository of nationwide water resources data, providing a 'Single Window' source of updated information on water resources and allied themes. It offers valuable insights into surface water, groundwater, land resources, and more.Data on the flow and level of surface water are collected across 4824 river point stations spanning all states and Union Territories in India by the Central Water Commission (CWC). This information is accessible through the Water Resources Information Systems portal. The data is categorized at administrative entities (up to districts), basin and river levels, and is presented across daily, monthly, and annual time-series since 1959. This data is particularly valuable for studies involving floods and hydrological droughts.
