Tim Burstall was a key figure in the Australian New Wave Cinema. The collection highlights his body of work in both film and television. Feature films directed by Tim Burstall include Stork (1971), Alvin Purple (1973), Petersen (1974), Eliza Fraser (1976) and Kangaroo (1986). The collection includes scripts, books journal articles and clippings files. An extensive collection of material on Alvin Purple has been donated to the AFI Research Collection by Alan Hopgood.
