Digital Archive from a Geophysical Survey at Hemel Hempstead Road, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, 2024 to 2025

This collection consists of GIS, Geophysics and site record data from an archaeological geophysical survey (magnetometry) by MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology). Work occurred on c105ha of land north-west of Hemel Hempstead Road (B487) Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, from December 2024 to January 2025. The survey detected a small group of rectilinear features that lie close to Great Revel End Farm and may relate to deserted medieval or post-medieval settlement remains. It also detected the remains of six probable World War Two military huts in the south-east of the survey area. Several backfilled quarry pits and historic field boundaries were also detected. Much of the survey area exhibited evidence of natural geological features, including broad areas of colluvium and head deposits at the base of dry valleys.
