This data set describes a tree ring data set of 146 mature individuals of Scots pine (*Pinus sylvestris*) collected in a replicated ecological study design across Norway’s northernmost county Finnmark. The motivation of the study was to quantify the abundance and growth of Scots pine seedlings in a neighborhood around mature seed trees. This dataset contains the tree ring time series of the seed trees. The dataset consists of the following files:
- A coordinate file that contains sampling coordinates for each seed tree. This file is in a simple text format (.txt).
- A data file that contains the raw measurements of ring width per year for each sample. The data file is given in the Tree Ring Data Standard (TriDaS; [Jansma et al. 2010](https://doi.org/10.1016/j.dendro.2009.06.009)), which is an XML-based universal standard for dendrochronological data.
