Shades of Manipulation: A Large-Scale Analysis of Deceptive Design in Brazilian Mobile Applications

This dataset contains: Recordings of occurrences of the new DP cases: (1) ”Terms/Policy in Another Language” and ”Terms/Policy Out Of Bounds”; (2) ”Ads with Layers”; (3) ”Task-based Rewards”; (4) ”Ad-locked Rewards”; (5) Evoke Emotions to Take Action”. Deceptive Pattern Cases: spreadsheet containing the categorization of Deceptive Pattern Cases from our study Database - Finding DPs on Applications: spreadsheet containing the overall results and, by each app category, the prevalence of Deceptive Patterns in 100 mobile trending apps.
