Effects of eight <i>Lymnaea stagnalis</i> seminal fluid peptide and protein peaks.

The effects of each separate peptide or protein were tested on body size (shell length in mm), egg mass production (total number of masses laid), hatching success (percentage of hatched eggs) and consumption (in cm2 lettuce). The five rows represent separate experiments done at different dates. For brevity, the plus-minus sign (±) is used to indicate that the peptide/protein peaks were each tested both with and without added sperm. For parametric tests (ANOVA) the two degrees of freedom (df) and F-values are shown. For non-parametric tests (Kruskal Wallis) one df and X2-approximations are shown. Significant differences are indicated in bold. Ovipostatin corresponds to Peak number 10.
