De Novo Assembly and Annotation of Myxococcus xanthus DZ2 (d-Protobacteria), the wild-type strain of a model social bacterium

Here we present the complete genome of the wild-type strain of Myxococcus xanthus DZ2, a soil Delta-protobacterium, widely used to understand bacterial motility, development, inter- and intra-species interactions, cell morphology, evolution and the production of secondary metabolites.
