Nerve conduction and excitability variables before, during and after ischemia.

Variables before induction of ischemia are presented as mean values ± standard deviation. Values during and after ischemia are expressed as a percentage of values before ischemia with negative values indicating a decrease and positive values an increase. Nerve conduction variables were obtained every minute. One excitability-test lasted about five to ten minutes. The interval between excitability-tests was five minutes. At Isch 5 (from 45 tot 50 minutes after the induction of ischemia) in none of the subjects any sensory response could be measured any more.
