De novo leaf transcriptomes of Poales species. Poales

Our goal is to develop a transcriptome resource for understanding the evolution of diverse gene families in the Poales. We identified several publically available RNAseq data sets and used a bioinformatic pipeline to perform de novo transcriptome assemblies. Individual assemblies are of variable quality, which was dependent on the depth of sequencing or the complexity of the sequenced species (diploid versus polyploid, degree of heterzygosity due to naturally outcrossing or selfing behavior).
