Incorporating Family and Parenting Occupations into Mental Health Occupational Therapy: Overview and Guide using Occupational Therapy Specific Models, Assessments, and Occupational Formulations

This report was developed collaboratively between La Trobe occupational therapy students and FaPMI Eastern Health in 2023 and includes 1) a literature review of how family and parenting occupations are incorporated into occupational therapy practice in mental health and occupational therapy conceptual models, 2) interviews with occupational therapists practicing in a publicly funded mental health service and 3) tools and resources to guide occupational therapists to incorporate family and parenting occupations in their formulations and practice.
