The number of tourist arrivals from the United States to Europe grew sharply in 2022 compared to the previous year, but did not fully recover yet from the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Overall, Southern and Mediterranean European countries were the region's most visited destinations by U.S. travelers in 2022, with roughly 8.3 million arrivals that year.
