Proteomic Analysis of Serum and Urine Samples from Patients with Acute Achilles Tendon Rupture (ATR) to Identify Pathogenic Mechanisms and Biomarkers

This project presents a detailed proteomic analysis of serum and urine samples from patients with acute Achilles tendon rupture (ATR) compared to healthy controls. The study utilized isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation (iTRAQ) to identify differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) associated with ATR pathogenesis. A total of 44 and 198 proteins were identified in serum and urine samples, respectively, with significant differences observed between ATR patients and controls. The analysis revealed the involvement of multiple biological processes and pathways, including immune response, metabolism, and redox regulation. To ensure the confidence in our data, MS and MS/MS spectra of at least two proteins from each category of upregulated and downregulated proteins have been included. Additionally, in response to the requirement for transparency and reproducibility, the raw data from this study has been deposited in the ProteomeXchange China repository, allowing the scientific community to access and verify the results. This submission includes all necessary files for the comprehensive analysis and interpretation of the proteomic data related to ATR.
