The Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) Arachnid Collection was established in 1981 and consists of about 5300 databased specimens and an additional several thousand that are curated but not yet registered. The majority of the specimens have been collected from locations in Northern Australia. The collection includes 112 holotypes and over 252 paratypes. Specimens can be lent to workers at other institutions upon application and the MAGNT also welcomes visiting researchers.
