RNA-seq of Mucor circinelloides strain VI04473 grown with and without calcium

The filamentous fungus Mucor circinelloides VI04473 (Cir2 in sample name) was grown to investigate the transcriptomic response to calcium availability under reference phosphate conditions. Cultures were grown in nitrogen-limited medium containing inorganic phosphate at the reference concentration P1 (7 g/L KH2PO4 and 2 g/L Na2HPO4), with two calcium treatments: calcium present at 0.1 g/L CaCl2·2H2O (Ca1) and calcium missing (Ca0). Biomass was harvested after 5 days of cultivation (4 biological replicates per treatment), RNA was extracted, and transcriptomes were sequenced for differential expression analysis between the calcium treatments.
