资源简介:
To understand the genes underlying the phenotypic differences in colonization and disease of different Candida albicans isolates, SC5314 and 529L were mated to one another. The tetraploid mating product was induced to undergo chromosome loss through the parasexual program, and progeny were collected to analyze the outcomes of C. albicans parasex. The goal of sequencing these progeny was to determine inheritance of the alleles from each of the two parental strains in the progeny. This is relevant to: a) gain a greater understanding of parasex and b) determine the extent of recombinaiton that occurs during parasex in Candida albicans.
