Isolation and identification of Vibrio mediterranei XA14 and its pathogenicity to Fenneropenaeus merguiensis

In this study, a bacterial strain XA14 was isolated from a diseased shrimp biofloc culture ponds and identified as V. mediterranei XA14 based on molecular biological characteristics. In this paper, we report the drug-resistant properties of V. mediterranei XA14 and morphological characteristics under a scanning electron microscope, as well as the clinical symptoms and mortality rate of V. mediterranei infections in shrimp F. merguiensis, to determine the pathogenicity of V. mediterranei XA14 in shrimp. Through transcriptome analysis, the pathogenic mechanism of V. mediterranei XA14 on shrimp was explored, and the immune response mechanism of shrimp was excavated, to provide references for the pathologic investigation and control technology of V. mediterranei in shrimp.
